I’m switching things up a little bit today. I take great joy in sharing all things practical with you; but I thought it would be fun to share a few fun facts about me, which probably only the closest of my friends know.
Here they are
- I cannot peel or chop an onion without feeling like my eyeballs are being plucked out of their sockets.
- I broke most of my fingers when I was school-aged playing (or trying) netball. Oh, and I also broke both my arms. And my nose.
- I could eat raw fish and meat for the rest of my life.
- I’ve watched less than 10 movies in the past 10 years. I’d much rather watch a series, or read a book.
- My memory is so bad I realise I’ve recently read the same book I’ve started again when I’m 50% in. Only I’m not sure…
- I hated sports and exercise when I was young, but would now do it everyday if I could.
- My schoolmates barely recognised me a few months after we parted our ways post secondary school. I lost 16 kilos and started my journey towards self-confidence.
- My biggest dream is living the nomad life in Asia.
- I LOVE to eat. Not just any food, because I’m a real foodie. Neil and I delight in trying out top-rated restaurants. Very few make the cut to the ones which are supremely amazing though.
- I research for hours before buying anything. I take great pride in buying the best for what I need (my husband Neil is also another avid researcher :-D)
- I am terrible at ironing and could not iron if my life depended on it.
- The two times I was pregnant I morphed into an unrecognisable version of myself (especially in Yanik’s case). I gained over 30 kilos in each pregnancy. When I was pregnant with Yanik my face changed, and my nose widened. It was weird to look in the mirror.
- I use my phone for everything and I could not live without it.
- I’m a gadget freak. The joy of technology!
- My instincts about people are almost always spot on. I only ever got it completely wrong one time.
That’s it mamas!

May 3, 2019 12:29 pmEnjoyed reading these fun facts π I hated sports growing up, and as a teenager as well, which I really regret!
Curious to see photos of you pregnant π mind you, you should not be ashamed of gaining extra weight while pregnant. It is an incredible feat what we ladies go through those 9 months. I loved my pregnant belly, in total I gained about 20 kilos during my pregnancy π
